George Pate, 83, died on October 22, 2024 after an extended illness. He was born on February 20, 1941 in Sheffield, AL. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024, 10 a.m. at Colbert Memorial Gardens. Bro. Greg Beasley will be officiating.
George was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nona Pate, his brothers, Pete Pate and infant Benny J. Pate; niece, Amanda McDonald; and brother-in-law, Doug McDonald.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Jane McDonald; nieces, Jackie McMurtrey, Tina Pate and Angela (Thomas) Counts; great niece, Tanya (Kitori) Baugh; great nephew, Brandon Crittenden.
George placed his faith and trust in Jesus Christ many years ago. He was a graduate of Colbert County High School. He retired from Reynolds where he was an aluminum worker. He also served in the Alabama National Guard.
