George Milton “Mitch” Alley, age 83, of Goodlettsville, passed away Friday, November 15, 2024, at NHC Springfield. Funeral services will be conducted at 11am Tuesday, November 19th in the Austin & Bell Funeral Home chapel in Greenbrier with Minister Jean Kimbrough officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Zac Alley, Patrick Jones, Jacob Pentecost, Dalton Graham, Jarrett Pentecost, Nathan Jett, Ryan Yates, and Cade McLean serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 3-7pm Monday, and again from 10-11am Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Mr. Alley was born November 28, 1940, in Old Hickory, TN, to the late George Farris Alley and the late Mary Ella Murphy Alley. He worked as a Pipe Fitter at Dupont for many years.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Alley was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Alley; and a sister, Wanda Gunn.
He is survived by his daughters, Gina (Purnell) Horton, Shelley (Bryan) Jones, and Cheryl (Johnny) Pentecost; 8 grandchildren, Allison (Dalton) Graham, Paige (Jarrett) Pentecost, Zac (Nicole) Alley, Cheyenne (Nathan) Jett, Taylor (Ryan) Yates, Nicole Horton (Cade), Patrick Jones (Kaitlyn), and Jacob Pentecost (Summer); and 14 great grandchildren.
