George (Mickey) Mitchell McCutcheon of Huntsville, Alabama passed away on July 11th, 2024 at the age of 73. He was born on January 15th, 1951 to Cloye McCutcheon and Norma Cook. He worked for the City of Huntsville in the Public Works department for 21 years. He was a man who loved his family fiercely, the simple things in life brought him the most joy and happiness; such as grilling out in the summertime for family, tinkering around in his shop, fishing, and his favorite; being the Captain of the ship on family vacations to the Smokies Mountains every year.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cloye McCutcheon; mother, Norma Cook; daughter, Alisha McCutcheon; 3 brothers, Billy Joe, Jerry Wayne, and Robert “Bobby”; and a sister, Rebecca McCutcheon.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Melissa McCutcheon; two children, daughter, Melinda (Bill) Roberts; and son, Michael McCutcheon; six grandchildren, Tony, Aaron(Hunter), Addison(Stephen), Megan(Logan), Michael Ray, Brenton; a great-grandchild, Rylan;
Brother Doug (Sherry) McCutcheon; one loving dog, Daisy, and many family and friends. His final wish was always to have 10000 red roses. The family requests that you please bring a single red rose with you.
Visitation will be on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Berryhill Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Shannon Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Huff Cemetery, in Lacey’s Spring, Alabama.
