GeorgeGeorge Malcom “Mac” Waldrep, 85, of Cherokee, Alabama, died Thursday, October 17, 2013, at Helen Keller Hospital in Tuscumbia, AL. He was a member of Allsboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he was an elder for 55 years. He loved working at the church, enjoyed square dancing and antique cars. He retired from Reynolds Aluminum. Visitation is scheduled for 12:30 until 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 19, 2013, at Allsboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church – 1925 Allsboro Road, Cherokee, AL 35616. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 19, at Allsboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church, officiated by Dr. Don Thomas and Rev. J.B. Burns. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers include Lyn Waldrep, Jeffery Whitaker, Jeff Whitaker, Raymond Wallace, Patrick Curtin and Luther Bishop. Honorary Pallbearers include Donnie Dexter, Ronnie Dexter, L.O. Bishop and Lonnie Stumbaugh. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by two sons, George Dexter Waldrep (Melba) of Florence, AL and Malcolm Patrick Waldrep (Wanda) of Cherokee, AL; a daughter, Angela Dale Johnson (Jimmy) of Cherokee, AL; a brother, Omar Patrick “Pat” Waldrep (Jane) of Cherokee, AL; a granddaughter, Sarah Britney Waldrep. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Mary Jane Dexter Waldrep and his parents, George and Ruby Mae Waldrep. Memorial contributions may be made to Allsboro Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery Fund, c/o Jason Morgan, 4850 Allsboro Road, Cherokee, AL 35616.
