George Leonard Peden, 92, of Muscle Shoals, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2019. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 22, from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at East Colbert Church of Christ. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at Shady Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Peden was a native of Colbert County and a member of East Colbert Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Christine Peden; and parents, Johnnie Paul and Gracie Louise Peden.
Mr. Peden is survived by his children, Wayne Peden and wife Enola, Frankie Peden and wife, Becky, Kenneth Peden, Michael Peden, Elizabeth Stewart, Annette English, and Cindy Peden; brother, Roy Peden; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
The family expresses special thanks to the staffs of Cottage of the Shoals and Compassus Hospice.
