George Howard Sommers Jr.
June 21, 1954 – December 7, 2022
A memorial service will be held at Genesis Worship Center 251 Rocky Hollow Road, Saturday December 10, 2022 at 3:00 Rev. Phillip Austin officiating.
Mr. Sommers died December 7, 2022 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
He is survived by one daughter, Astra Sommers, three grandchildren, Jasmine Sommers (Caleb Kirk), Troy (Chase) Sommers, George Mason Sommers, two sisters, Amber Fischer and Michelle Sommers. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Catherine Sommers. Mr. Sommers was a U.S. Army vet. and retired from Georgia Pacific. He loved to play golf and was an avid Chicago Bears and Alabama football fan. He loved family get-togethers and enjoyed music. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Astra Sommers 45 “B” Street S.W. Jacksonville, Al 36265, to help with the funeral expenses.
