Mr. McNeely passed away early Sunday at Diversa Care Nursing in Ripley, MS.

He was born in Sunflower Co., MS and moved to Memphis where he lived from 1949-1971. Mr. McNeely spent much of his life in the Walnut, MS area.

His parents were the late Thomas Jefferson and Ina Ula Gates McNeely. On Monday, July 18, 1966, he was married to the former Bobbie Marie Hodge. They were married for nearly 30 years before her passing on Thursday, February 22, 1996. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. McNeely was preceded in death by six sisters, Rosalee, Alice, Estell, Jewel, Rachel and Inez; and two brothers, T. J. and Robert.

Mr. McNeely was a self-employed roofer, an occupation he loved; and also farmed. He made is profession of faith in Jesus and was saved in May, 2014. In his leisure time, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, visiting with people, eating catfish and playing dominos and rook.

His surviving family include his daughter Melissa Hall (James) of Booneville, MS; two sons, Andy and Wayne McNeely (Tonya), both of Walnut; a sister-in-law, Lola McNeely of Walls, MS; three grandchildren, Joshua McNeely of Middleton, Hannah Bennett of Southaven, MS and Allison Tate of Ripley, MS; and 14 great-grandchildren.
