georgeGeorge Gilbert Cotner was born February 26, 1941 in Stantonville, TN the son of the late Theodore and Sara Artie Flatt Cotner. Mr. Cotner worked as a janitor for many years at the Adamsville City Hall and Dr. Jim Yancey’s office. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Adamsville, TN. George was known in Adamsville and surrounding communities because he was the man who rode the bicycle with the flags on it and his hat always had feathers. He loved to ride his bicycle and rode for many years. He enjoyed hunting for rocks and arrowheads. George was a friendly and outgoing person who loved to kid around with people. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Mr. Cotner departed this life on December 16, 2013 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 72 Years, 9 Months, 20 Days. He is survived by two brothers, Johnny Cotner and wife Rose of Adamsville, TN, James Lee Cotner and wife Betty of Bethel Springs, TN; two sisters, Artie Jane Smith of Adamsville, TN, Ruby Jean Cotner of Adamsville, TN; nieces and nephews, Pam Hardy, Jeanie Burleson, Johnny L. Cotner, Jamie Cotner, Davy Cotner, Jeff Cotner, Ruby Jewel Lynn, Delois Evans and Allen Lee Smith; host of extended family and friends.
