George Franklin Flanagan – Obituary

georgeGeorge Franklin Flanagan, 52, the 8th and youngest child born to the union of the late Billy Joe Flanagan, Sr. and June Elizabeth Teel Flanagan, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016 at NMMC after a brief illness. Born in Corinth on Oct. 14, 1964, George spent most of his life in the Tupelo area where he was a master cook and carpenter. A Baptist by faith, he was a generous man who loved his family dearly, loved his dogs and revered his daughter, Maggie and her two children, Charlie and Annabelle. He lived a quiet, simple life.
A graveside service celebrating his life will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, November 19, 2016 in the Flanagan Family Plot at the Center Star Cemetery in Mantachie. Visitation will follow at the gravesite. Holland Funeral Directors, Tupelo Chapel, is honored to be assisting the family.
He is survived by his daughter Maggie Flanagan of Memphis, TN. Two Grandchildren, Charlie and Annabelle Flanagan both of Memphis, TN. His special friend and companion, Paula Hardin of Guntown, MS. Six Sisters, Jeanie Hufstedler and Joyce White (Donnie) all of Corinth, Jo Armstrong of Jackson, MS, Judy Ivy (Jeff) of Palmetto, Janeva Caldwell of Guntown and Janis Durham (Freddy) of Mantachie. Many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Billy Joe Flanagan, Jr.
