George Carlton Alexander, Jr. George Carlton Alexander, Jr., age 63, of Florence, passed away on Saturday, May 09, 2020 at his residence.

Carlton was elected to the Russellville City Council at the age of 19 and was the youngest elected official at that time.  For a long time he owned Thompson BBQ, was a preacher, and then moved on to different ventures.  He always did everything 100 percent and was very driven to succeed.  He was always willing to help anyone, regardless of personal cost.  He attended the Church of the Highlands.  Carlton was very outgoing, and will be remembered by all who knew him.

The visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Spry Memorial Chapel, with a memorial service following at noon in the chapel. Bro. Lonnie Oldag will speak at the service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Carlton Alexander Sr. and Ida Lee Smith Alexander.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Greg Alexander, Audrey Alexander, Brad Alexander; brother, Sam Alexander (wife, Terri); ex-wife, Stephanie Alexander; and host of nieces & nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to his good friend, Tommy Garrison, for taking care of our dad.
