George B. Grandinetti, age 85, who died on July 11, 2012 will have a memorial service at State Line Church on Chisholm Rd. Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, at 4:00 p.m.
George was a veteran of WWII and Korea. He served as a hospital corpsman with the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marines as well as U.S. Naval Hospital, St. Albans, N.Y., Recruiting Station Washington, D.C., U.S. Naval Hospital, Ft. Worth,U.S. Navy Hospital, Houston, Recruiting Station Navy Yard, Charlestown, S.C., U.S.S. General H.W. Butner Ap113 U.S. Navy Hospital Camp LeJeune, N.C.
He received the WWII Victory Medal, China Service Medal, Navy Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Korean Service Medal.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy (Berry) Grandinetti; parents, Kathrin and Nick Grandinetti; guardians, Frances and Michael Pappas; brother, Joseph Grandinetti, killed in action during the last days of WWII.
He is survived by sons, Gregory and George M. Grandinetti; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Grandinetti; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
