Mr. George Arnold Lauby, age 77 of Lineville, passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the Clay County Hospital. No services are being planned at this time.

Mr. Lauby was born in Akron, Ohio but moved to Prattville, Alabama as a child. He had lived in Prattville up until moving to Lineville in 2006. He retired after several years with National Cash Register Corporation and then worked for several more years with Tera Data, a sister company of NCR. Mr. Lauby was a quiet, easy going man that enjoyed many exciting activities and hobbies. He was very mechanical, loved riding motorcycles, and was a licensed pilot that owned his own jump plane to pursue his love of skydiving. Mr. Lauby also enjoyed his time spent with show cars, especially the Chrysler Cross Fire Forum.

Mr. Lauby is survived by his wife, Susan Spruell Lauby, his son, Todd Roberts (René), two grandchildren: Rachel Mitchell and Johnathan Roberts, all of Lineville, one great-granddaughter, Maylee Mitchell, his sister, Juliette “Jet” Porter of Montgomery and his niece, Kelly Porter of Prattville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Atley Lauby and Martha Holt Lauby, and his brother-in-law, Dick Porter.

Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville is in charge of the arrangements.
