George Anthony “Tony” Handley, 64, Tuscumbia, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023. Visitation will be Sunday, April 23, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Monday, April 24, at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Greg Corble officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
Tony retired as an assistant in the Mechanics Department from Northwest Shoals Community College. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He was a wonderful cook. Tony was a beloved Youth coach. He greatly influenced his players, several of whom have kept in touch with Tony over the years. But his greatest love was his family. Tony was preceded in death by his son, Jaime Handley; and parents, Billy George Eugene and Audrey McCaig Handley.
Tony is survived by his wife, Karen Handley; sons, Jacob Handley and Jason Handley; brother, Mark Handley; sisters, Deborah Wilson (Mike) and Linda McClamroch (Bruce); grandchildren, Juliana, Jordan, Peyton, and John Maddox Handley; niece and special caregiver, Alena Handley; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
