Geneva Norvell passed away on September 26, 2023, at the age of 90 from congestive heart failure.

Geneva was born to William and Emma Norvell on April 19, 1933, on a farm in Knox County, Kentucky. She graduated from Lynn Camp High School in Corbin, Kentucky in 1951. After attending Cumberland College, Geneva moved to Cincinnati, Ohio and spent nearly 40 years working in the corporate tax office of Frisch’s Big Boy. Following retirement, Geneva relocated from Cincinnati to Huntsville to be closer to her brother and sister and their families. For 16 years she enjoyed making new friends, walking her dog, volunteering, and family. She then lived with her sister, Ilene, for the last 12 years of her life. Geneva was passionate about animals and was particularly close to her cats and her dog, Charlie Boy.

Geneva joins her parents, two sisters, Carrie Pennington and Martha Partin, two brothers, Kenneth Norvell and Harold Norvell, brothers-in-law, Jake Pennington, Leslie Partin, and Thomas Rogers, sister-in-law, Juanita Norvell, and one nephew, David Norvell, in Heaven. She is survived by her sister, Ilene Rogers of Huntsville; sister-in-law, Audrey Norvell of Corbin; nephews, Dennis Pennington, Gary Norvell, Mark Norvell, and Paul Norvell; and her nieces; Nancy Pennington, Alice Norvell Tooley, Joan Norvell, Karen Williams, Neva Rogers Shuler, and Cathy Green.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the personnel at Home Instead for the care provided for Geneva over the last 18 months.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, September 30th at Laughlin Service Funeral Home in Huntsville. A graveside service will be held at Mt Zion cemetery at 2 p.m. Saturday. The cemetery is located behind the Mt Zion Baptist Church at 228 Mt Zion Road, Huntsville.
