It is with regret we announce the passing of Mrs. Geneva Hinshaw Burklin, age 94, of Fayetteville, TN. Geneva was born on August 17, 1925 in Winchester, TN to the late Herman A. and Jimmie Mae Grammer Hinshaw. She was the youngest of three children in the Hinshaw family. Geveva married the late Charles E. Burklin in 1943, during WWII. Together they managed the National Store for many years. Mr. & Mrs. Burklin joined Fayetteville First Baptist Church in 1950 and were faithful members. Mrs. Burklin passed away on April 25, 2020 at Donalson Care Center.
Survivors include her daughter, Beverly B. Milstead of Fayetteville; son, Charles E. Burklin, Jr. of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Penelope M. Miller of Fayetteville, Dr. John R. Milstead of St. Louis, MO, Charles E. Burklin, III, Melissa L. Burklin, and Clayton W. Burklin all of Charlotte, NC; great-grandchildren, Justin A. Miller of Boulder, CO, Zackary A. Miller of Fayetteville, and Jesse W. King of Charlotte, NC.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic there will be no public gathering at this time. A private family service will be held with Dr. Jon Hathcock officiating and burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, to be determined. The family invites you to share memories at higginsfh.com.
