Geneva Elaine “Big Easy” May, 50, of Albertville, passed away Thursday October 28th, 2021, at Huntsville Hospital. Marshall Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 6th, 2021, at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home.
Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Thurman May; her parents Jack Sims and Lovella Waldrop; and her sister Sharon Morton.
“Big Easy” was born and raised in Guntersville where she was a fixture in the local community. Everyone knew Elaine and she was great at bringing people together. She was a force to be reckoned with when she sat her mind to something, and she loved nothing more than to help people in need.
Elaine loved butterflies and frogs and she collected both. She had a huge collection of both that she loved sharing with her friends and family.
Although she loved her children Dylan and Brandi, her grandchildren were her favorites. She enjoyed spending time with them and showing them how much she loved them.
Elaine is survived by her children Dylan May and Brandi May and her husband Tyler Miller; her grandchildren Jaiden May; Kylie Neely; Rhiannon May and Zaiden Miller and Caidence Miller; her special niece and nephew that she loved like her own Rachel Morton and Shannon Morton; her special grandchildren Courtney Lassetter; Kaliegh Lassetter and Caiden Bennett; her brothers and sister Carrie Sims, Pete Sims and Tammy Vaughn; her step mother Viola Sims; her step brother and step sister Dale Layton and Teresa Schaffer ;special friends Joy Hill, Lisa Rydell, Steve Faulks, Ernest and Paula Woodard, Sandy Ramsey and Dennis.
