Geneva Dean Campbell Adair, 85, met her Lord and Savior and rejoined family members gone before from her room at Sunshine Health and Rehabilitation in Pontotoc. Geneva died after a long and courageous battle with dementia. She had resided at Sunshine for about 2 years. Born to the pioneer Campbell family of the Macedonia Community on Feb. 27, 1939, her parents were the late Leroy Campbell and Lossie Hampton Campbell. She grew up there, was educated in the public schools and married her late husband, Stanford Adair on Aug. 6, 1955, a marriage of 69 years. They made their lifelong home on the Campbell lands. A skilled beautician, she owned and operated Geneva’s Beauty Salon for over 40 years. A great cook in the tradition of her forebears, Geneva enjoyed family gatherings and feeding her loved ones. A quiet, simple lady with much grace and charm, she was a longtime faithful member of the Sherman Church of Christ. Geneva loved to fish, enjoy the outdoors and especially her grandchildren.
