Gene Vaughn passed away on September 4, 2023 at age 91. The Graveside Service, conducted by Brother Danny Sellars, is 11 am. Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Wilson County Memorial.
Gene Ivo Vaughn was born in Buffalo Valley TN to Lila Gustava Winchester Vaughn and Clarence Vaughn. He served in the United States Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict where he was a Prisoner of War for 18 months. In civilian life, he was a Boiler Maker welder. He enjoyed hunting, trapping and fishing, and collecting coins and knives. He also enjoyed football and followed all the Tennessee football teams.
Mr. Vaughn is survived by his children: Lewis “Randy” Vaughn and Melissa Brimm; grandchildren: Daryl W. Vaughn and Leslie Ann Vaughn; great-grandchildren: Breana Nicole Vaughn, Aalexis Jene Vaughn, Kaylie Raye Vaughn, and Eastyn Lane Vaughn; and siblings: Betty (Vern) Clay, Francis Rollins, Corinne (Wayne) Woodward, Elaine (Horice) Wright, and Tyler Vaughn. He is preceded in death by wife Mary Vaughn, children Tammy Martin, Deborah Jene Vaughn, Jerry Lane Vaughn, Terry Wayne Vaughn, and Daryl Ivo Vaughn, parents Lila and Clarence Vaughn, and sister Nancy Nave.
