Gene Franklin Powell, 78, of Huntsville, passed away Sunday. Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley; and children he raised, John Wesley and Barbara. He was a hard-working family man, raising his own children and adopted children. He will be missed by all his family and friends.
Survivors include Frank, Shane, Anita, Tommy and Sherry Powell and Donna, Doris, and Rachael Wesley; grandchildren, Brittany, Autumn, Cora, and Zane; and numerous more grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 5th at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the chapel with Bro. Shannon Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
