Gene Casper Peters, age 74, passed away on July 29, 2024. A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 3, at Williams Funeral Home from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. A private graveside service will be held later at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
Mr. Peters was preceded in death by his parents, George and Frances Peters; his beloved wife, Kathy Chandler Peters; and his brothers, Carl Peters and Steve Peters.
He is survived by his daughter, Gena Tsukashima (Kevin); his sons, Jeffrey Peters and Jonathan Peters; and his cherished grandchildren, Ashlyn Makenzie Wade, Katelin Grace Peters, Hallie Catherine Peters, Madeline Kline, and Ella Kline.
Mr. Peters enjoyed watching westerns, eating ice cream, playing BINGO, and hunting. He was an active member of the Florence Country Club, the Local Teamsters Union, and the Local Laborers Union. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Columbia Cottage Assisted Living, Visiting Angels (Liz), Southern Care New Beacon Hospice, and special caregiver Simone for their compassionate care.
