Gene Bassham, age 78, of Leoma, TN, passed away on Friday, November 15th, 2024 at his home in Leoma. Gene was born on December 18th, 1945 in Lawrenceburg to the late Louis and Bertha Bassham. Gene worked for many years as a general contractor, working on several homes throughout Lawrence and Maury County. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his loving family and friends. He was of Baptist Faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Bassham.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Frieda Bassham; son, Keith Bassham; daughter, Carol Dickey (Donald); grandchildren, Luke Bassham, Kara Bassham, Emma Bassham, Zack Dickey, Dustin Dickey (Brittney), and Ryan Dickey (Mariana); great grandchildren, Henry Dickey and Walker Rose Dickey; niece, Krystal (Vince) and nephew, Ricky Gene.
Visitation will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 19th, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Interment will be held privately by the family at Center Point Baptist Cemetery.
