Geary L. Leathers, 69, of Nashville, TN, died July 12, 2024, surrounded by his family at Alive Hospice Nashville after a brief illness.
He was born on March 30, 1955, in Fort Leonard Wood, MO, and raised in Florence, AL. A 1973 graduate of Bradshaw High, he recently attended his 50th class reunion. He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, N.Y., in 1978.
In 1984, he left the military with the rank of Captain, and launched a successful career in golf management in the U.S. and abroad. He moved to Nashville in 2015 and served as GM/COO for Richland Country Club, then as an industry consultant through his own firms, including Trademark Golf Management LLC.
His father, Willie L. Leathers, preceded him in death. He is survived by his mother, Margie McKinney Leathers of Nashville; the love of his life, Morel Enoch of Nashville; children, Bradley Leathers of Easley, SC and Abby Leathers Lambertson (Andrew) of Lawrenceville, GA; brother, Larry L. Leathers (Susan) of St. Louis, MO; sister, Linda Leathers Tullock (Gary) of Nashville, as well as other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, July 23, at Nashville First Baptist, 108 7th Ave. South. Visitation begins at 10 a.m., with the service to follow at 11 a.m. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. A private burial is planned at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Geary’s memory to the charity of your choice.
