Gayle White Yawn, age 76, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2024. She was born on February 6, 1948, to the late Frances Kennedy Bissell and William E. White. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather Raymond H. Bissell and her beloved nephew William Tracy Thompson.
Gayle is survived by her devoted husband, Geary Yawn (GW), with whom she shared 39 years of marriage; her sister, Judith White Thompson (Gregory J. Farnsworth); and her great-nephew, Jeremy Tracy Thompson, along with his daughter Donna Faye and son Bryson Lee Thompson. She is also survived by her stepdaughters, Jennifer Lucero (Sam) and Kimberly Yawn; and her cherished grandchildren, Kathryn Hansel (Tyler), Stephen Stokes (Kacey), and Evan Stokes (Caitlyn). She was blessed with four great-grandchildren, who sadly will never fully experience the love and warmth of such a remarkable person.
Gayle retired from JC Penney’s and, alongside her husband, ran their motorcycle shop, American Motorcycle Parts and Service, for 20 years. She found great happiness in spending time with her husband and their beloved dog, Layla.
Her deep love for her family and her appreciation for having a simple life will remain cherished in our hearts.
A viewing will be held at Hampton Cove Funeral Home on September 6, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with the funeral service taking place on September 7, 2024, at 11:00 AM. A graveside service will follow immediately after.
Flowers will be received by Hampton Cove Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
