Gayle-Nelson-1433666644An amazing example of mother and grandmother, Gayle Ann Nelson, was reunited with her husband, Stanley W. Nelson, Jr., in heaven on Tuesday June 2, 2015, passing quietly in her Huntsville home.

Survived by her children: Kristin and Scott; their spouses: Andres and Susan; and grandchildren: Kaja, Annali, Eric.

Our sense of loss for our family’s steadfast rock is indescribable. She spent her young-adult days supporting Stan’s Navy career and raising two children. Spending most of her recent professional life advocating for the protection of children and adults, she held a position on the FOCAL Board and volunteered to build relationships and gather/distribute Christmas presents for fosterkids. She loved her colleagues; as the Director of Aging Programs at TARCOG, they were fierce protectors and advocates for the clients they worked for. She loved her dog, Luke, and weekends and annual vacations with her children and grandchildren.

Funeral services at Spry Funeral Home in Huntsville on Sunday June 7, 2015 at 2pm with viewing 1-2pm.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in her name to FOCALofmadison.com.

Come join us to send her off with love.
