Gay King was born May 19, 1935 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late Lonnie Weaver and Nora Velmer McIntyre Weaver.
Mrs. King was united in marriage to Vernon “Pete” King on July 29, 1956. Mr. King preceded her in death on August 24, 1975.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Selmer, Tennessee. She had worked for the McNairy County School System for many years. Gay was a hard working lady and very independent. She enjoyed word search puzzles and anything John Wayne. Not only was she a big John Wayne fan, but she was also a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Mrs. King departed this life on July 28, 2022 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 87 Years, 2 Months, 9 Days.
She is survived by numerous cousins and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. King was preceded in death by two children, Douglas Vernon King in 1967 and Darrell Victor King in 1991; two sisters, Joy Flatt and Diane Walker; two brothers, Berlie and Duane Weaver; and nephew, Charles Wayne Flatt.
