Gary Swain Profile PhotoFuneral services with Military Honors for Gary Swain, 83, of Walnut are set for Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 2pm at Magnolia Funeral Home – EAST with interment in County Line Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, March 8, 2025 from 12pm-2pm at Magnolia Funeral Home – EAST. Bro. Jay White will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Billy Hughes, Gage Strickland, Cory Swain, Justin Swain, Byron Wegmann and Evan Hughes. Honorary pallbearers will be Stanley Jones, Ricky Brooks, Randal Brooks, Rebon Brooks and Tanner Brooks. Born July 8, 1941 in Walnut, MS., Mr. Swain passed from this life on Monday, March 3, 2025 at Tippah County Nursing Home. He was a retired line operator for ITT. Gary was a U. S. Army Veteran. He loved his family and spending time with them. Farming, watching Mississippi State football, taking care of his cows and watching wrestling was his favorite pastimes. Gary is survived by his sisters, Sandra Kay Hughes and Jeannie Ann Wegmann (Bill); nieces and nephews, Lorie Melton (Bill), Byron Wegmann (Tina), Billy C. Hughes II (Jennifer), Cory Swain (Pam), Kelly Patterson (Todd) and Justin Swain (Christina); other relatives and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his father, J. C. Swain, Jr.; mother, Hortense Swain; his brother, Charles Pitner Swain and his brother-in-law, Bill C. Hughes. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mr. Gary Swain.
