Gary Patterson passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024, at the age of 80.
He was born and raised in the Hazel Green area. He was enlisted in the United States Navy for a decade during the Vietnam conflict.
He enjoyed hunting as well as fishing and being outside as much as possible.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Alma Cantrell Patterson, his first wife Marguerite Miller Patterson, and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Linda Patterson, his sons, Mark Patterson and Johnny Patterson, grandchildren, Dr. Tessa Shepherd and Lucy Helton; 2 great-grandchildren, Carter and Claire; Brothers Phil, Ronnie, and sister, Gussie along with many additional friends and family.
The family will receive friends and family Monday, April 1, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Hazel Green Funeral Home. A graveside committal will be following at New Sharon Cemetery at 4:30 PM.
