Albertville Funeral Home Downtown announces the death of Gary Michael Keener, 60, of Gadsden, AL, who passed away Thursday June 20, 2019 at Riverview Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Albertville Funeral Home Downtown Chapel. Jeremy Mallet will officiate. Pallbearers will be Ted Anthony, Alan McCormick, Ben McCormick, Tony Carroll, Jackie Carroll, Adam McClendon. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Balzar, Buddy James, Mark Befort, George Nix, Robert Gaskin, Mitchell McClendon, Thomas Carroll, Doug Childers, Elton Stone. The family will visit with friends Saturday, June 22, 2019 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service at Albertville Funeral Home Downtown Chapel. Preceded in death by his mother, Edith Roberts Keener, father, Claude Clay Keener, sister, Joyce Carroll, Estelle McCormick (Charles), brother, CB Keener, nephew, Terry Keener. He is survived by his sisters, Betty McClendon (Mitchell), Linda Gaskin (Robert), Special “Sissy”, Sandy Keener Befort, Brother in law, Thomas Carroll, 14 nieces and nephews, and a host of great nieces and nephews. The family would like to especially thank the seventh floor nurses and assistant nurses at Riverview Regional Medical Center and have a deep and abiding love for the people of Hope Homes who loved and helped show Gary a good and active adult life.
