Funeral service for Gary Lynn Herrington, age 68, of Town Creek will be 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Karen Kennedy officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Midway Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Herrington, who died Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Lawrence Medical Center, was born March 23, 1956, in Louisiana to Fred Herrington and Margaret Favors Herrington. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, David Herrington (Becky). Mr. Herrington served in the U. S. Marine Corps and was a member of Local 558 IBEW of Sheffield, AL. His leisure time was enjoyed fishing, playing guitar, grafting pecan trees, drag racing, and LSU baseball and football. Spending time with his grandchildren was his greatest joy. He always pushed the ones he loved to be better.
He is survived by his wife, Darline Herrington; two sons, L. J. Browning (Kristan) and Luke Herrington; two daughters, Tinasha Shelton (Matt) and Crystal Terry (Shaun); brother, Michael Herrington (Becky); sister, Karen Kennedy (Pat); 18 grandchildren, Tyler Browning, Samantha Browning, Landynn Browning, Braxton Browning, Nathan Shelton, Shelby Shelton, Brittney Herrington, Lance Herrington, Christopher Herrington, Daniel Herrington, Ben Williams, Ethan Williams, Hadleigh Terry, Dylan Terry, Chyanne Floyd, Waylon Floyd, Wyatt Floyd and Maggie Williams; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be L. J. Browning, Luke Herrington, Matt Shelton, Shaun Terry, Nathan Shelton, Christopher Herrington, and Landynn Browning, Tyler Browning. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Herrington, Ben Williams, and Ethan Williams.
