Gary Lee Potts Gary Lee Potts, 68, employee of General Electric, died Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at his residence on Old Williamsport Pike.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 12:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Helton Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.

Born June 23, 1952 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Howard Ray Potts and the late Mackie Mae Carpenter Potts. An avid sports and outdoorsman, he enjoyed football, collecting University of Tennessee Memorabilia, horses, and traveling to Gatlinburg to see the mountains. Mr. Potts loved to go eat at Cracker Barrell and the Fish Camp. He was an active member in the Sons of the Confederacy Organization. Mr. Potts also loved his family and researching his family geology.

Survivors include his brother, Nathan Potts of Columbia; nieces and nephews, Angela Morton of Summertown; Tim Potts of Summertown; Jennifer (Timmy) Massie of Columbia; Mike (Christy) Goats of Summertown; Joel (Cindy) Potts of Columbia; Kim Hardison of Culleoka; Chris Potts of Culleoka; Brian Potts of Culleoka; great nieces and great nephews, Julie Potts of Summertown; Jennie Morton (Ben) Smith of Columbia; Justin (MaKayla) Morton of Florida; Jesse James of Columbia; Anthony (Ciara) James of Columbia; Emily James of Columbia; Nicholas Potts of Columbia; Landon Potts of Columbia; Austin Potts of Columbia; Jaycelyn (Austin) Brewer of Culleoka; Levi Potts of Culleoka; Maranda (Anthony) Butera of Columbia; Zackary Hardison of Columbia; Ashley Potts of Columbia; Dylan  (Alyssa) Potts of Lawrenceburg; Michael Potts of Culleoka; Andrew Potts of Culleoka; several great great nieces, great great nephews, and cousins; special cousin, Tony Potts and special friend, Cleo McCaleb.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Potts.

Family will serve as active pallbearers.
