Gary James Gibson, Jr. (affectionately referred to as “Pickle” by his mom) died July 20, 2021, in St. Petersburg, Florida. He was 49 years old.
He was a military kid born at Ft. Lewis, Washington. He grew up in Texas, West Germany, Virginia, Nebraska, and Huntsville, Alabama, his home for 27 years. He was a good ball player, swimmer, downhill skier, and was impressive on the bench press. He worked on his guitar skills and had some good songs. He was a hard-working loveable man.
He was married to Lacey Heflin, and they had two children, a daughter, Jordan, and a son, Luke. His children were his greatest joy. Unfortunately, his marriage ended in divorce. Gary moved to Florida, and there he met the second love of his life, Lisa Stapleton, and her son Jordan.
Gary was preparing dinner for the family when he collapsed from cardiac arrest. He was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. Emergency efforts to revive him failed. His loving family was with him in the hospital. He passed without pain
He is survived by his parents, Gary and Patti Gibson; daughter, Jordan; son, Luke; his brothers, David, and his daughter, Lauren, Charlie, and his wife Johanna; and Gary’s partner, Lisa Stapleton and her son, Jordan.
Visitation will be held on August 9th from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home located at 2320 Bob Wallace Avenue, Huntsville, AL 35805, followed by a memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to contribute to the Salvation Army or the Food Bank of North Alabama.
