Gary Eugene Hillis, 69, passed away on May 15, 2019. Mr. Hillis was born on September 7, 1949 in Petersburg, VA to Edward and Ruby Hillis. A Celebration of Life will be on Monday, May 20, at 1:00 pm at Roselawn Funeral Home. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Garden. Mr. Hillis is preceded in death by his parents, son, Zachary Hillis; one brother, Ron Hillis, and sister, Darlene DeWitt. He is survived by his daughter, Emily Lach (Daniel); grandchildren, Zachary Fondren, Lillian and Daisy Lach; brothers, Eddie Hillis, Steve (Benita) Hillis, sisters, Judith H. Black, Lynn Kelso (Steve), Faye Davis, and Dana Hillis; sister in law, Karen Hillis, and many nephews and nieces. Mr. Hillis was a veteran who served in Vietnam with the US Army.
