SSGT Gary Edwin Peterson, USMC, Retired, age 71, of McMinnville, Tennessee, died Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Alive Hospice Murfreesboro.
He was a native of Marshall County, the son of the late Gerald Peterson and Dorothy Luna Peterson. He was retired from the United States Marine Corp and a member of the First Baptist Church of Shelbyville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joyce Peterson.
He is survived by his sister, Linda (Frank) Brooks of McMinnville; niece, Stephanie (Scott) Vaughn of Manchester; nephew, Richard (Meredith) Milburn of Dalton, GA; great niece, Lillian Vaughn and great nephew, Aaron Vaughn.
Funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of London Funeral Home, 324 West Church Street, Lewisburg, Tennessee 37091, with burial to follow in Lone Oak Cemetery with military honors.
Visitation with the family will begin on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at 12:00 pm and will continue until the funeral hour.
