Gary Douglas Roberts, age 82 of Fort Payne, passed away on November 30, 2021.
He was born on April 22, 1939 to the late Samuel Lamar, Sr. & Nancy Geneva Jewel Wilks Roberts in Alabama City. Mr. Roberts served in the United States Army and retired as a welder from General Electric.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, December 3, 2021 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Max Tucker and Pastor Matt Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 4 until 7pm and from 11 am until the 2 p.m. hour of service on Friday.
He is survived by his children, Chris (Donna) Roberts, Eric (Michelle) Roberts and Rhonda Roberts; brothers, Larry (Bonnie) Roberts, Dwight Roberts and Dwayne Roberts; sisters, Sandra Hanford and Muriel Freshour; grandchildren, Maurey (Candra) Roberts, Caleb (Lauren) Roberts, Erica (Ashley) Martin, Brett (Laura) Roberts, Will Goza, Steffan Goza, and Micah (Payton) Roberts; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Shirley Adams.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Sam and Royce Roberts.
