Gary Dean Putt, 53, left this world on Sat., Oct. 21, 2023, in Pontotoc County. Gary was born in Pontotoc on Dec. 11, 1969, to the late Melvin Leon Putt and Zona Delone Winters Putt, who survives. Gary grew up in Pontotoc Co., was educated there, and spent the rest of his life as a master mechanic, first owning Pontotoc Auto and Truck Service and later, working for Transport Trailers in Tupelo. A great lover of God’s creation, Gary loved the outdoors, camping, hunting and fishing. He was an extraordinary “piddler,” could fix anything, and loved working with his hands. A friend to all, Gary was always ready to “do something” for others. A big Ole Miss fan, he loved bluegrass music and was a member of the Longview Baptist Church.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023 at Longview Baptist Church in Pontotoc Co. with Bro. Terry Faulkner officiating. Private burial will follow in the Longview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5PM-7 PM Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023 and from 1 PM-service time on Wednesday, all at Longview Baptist Church. Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo is honored to serve the family.
