  Gary Corbin Hamil Profile PhotoGary Corbin Hamil, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 14th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 25, 1950, to Hugh and LaUna Hamil in Maryville, TN.

A true sportsman, Corbin spent much of his time in the great outdoors. In his youth he rose to the honor of Eagle Scout, embodying the values of service, leadership, and preparedness. Throughout his life, his love of hunting and fishing led him to many adventures and amazing destinations. Among his cherished companions were his beloved HRC hunting dogs, who were not just pets but faithful partners in his outdoor pursuits. When the weather turned warmer, Corbin could be found on the golf course or poolside with his family. A lifelong Tennessee Vols fan, Corbin’s passion for his team was unwavering, and he cheered them on through every game.

Corbin was a devoted family man and a calming presence to all. He cherished moments spent with his wife, Sarah, and his children, Chris, Rob, and Amy, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love.

Corbin will be remembered as a man of few words, but full of wisdom when he spoke. He was a source of strength and touched so many lives with his generosity and loyal heart, leaving behind a powerful legacy. In his memory, let us honor Corbin by appreciating the abundance in nature, cherishing time spent with loved ones, and living life to the fullest, just as he did.

Corbin is survived by his wife, Sarah, his children, John Robert Croom (Elizabeth), Gary Chris Hamil (Lindsey), and Amy Estelle Carter (Robb), and five grandchildren, his father, Hugh F. Hamil, and his sister Nancy Tenpenny (Chuck). Corbin was preceded in death by his mother, LaUna Hamil, and his brother, Frederik “Freddie” Hamil. May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life for Corbin will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the Jackson Country Club beginning at 2:30 p.m. and continuing until 4:30 p.m.
