Garland Laverne PutmanGarland Laverne Putman, 92, of Toney, Alabama, passed away on March 22, 2025, at his residence.

Garland was born on March 3, 1933, to the late Mr. Ruby Lee Putman and Mrs. O’Dell Watkins Putman in Alabama.

He spent a majority of his life in Toney, Alabama, where Garland was an auctioneer, radio disc jockey, and a truck driver. In his later years he worked in his sawmill.

Mr. Putman was preceded in death by both of his parents, one brother; Leroy Putman, as well as one sister: Mary Rose Campbell.

Garland is survived by his wife, Margaret Loretta Miller Putman, three sons; Harold Ray Putman, Anthony James Putman, and Dan (Kristie) Putman, one daughter; Debra Jean (Benny Mac) Childers, four grandchildren; Levi Dawson, Jake Putman, Jessie Putman and Ethan Putman, two great grandchildren; Finley Putman and Ruby Joe Putman, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

A private visitation for family only will be held at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in Ardmore, Alabama. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 12:00 (NOON) PM. located at Gatlin Cemetery.

Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home will be assisting the family with services.
