Gap Coverage

The value of a car and how much is owed for the car is by no means the same. People are always disappointed with the value that an insurance company puts on their car after a wreck.

Insurance companies have a lot of resources to come to a price. It is generally not worth paying a lawyer to fight for a thousand dollars difference.

Some people buy “gap” coverage that pays the difference between what is paid and what is owed.

It may be worth your time to price this type of coverage. Buying a car is stressful and getting a great deal is hard to do.

People are generally happy with what they had before an accident and not so much after.

I absolutely love what I do and this is part of it. I certainly can solve these problems but we get so many calls from people who hire out of town lawyers that it may be a consideration to hire a personal injury lawyer who is local just so that you can meet face to face and ask any question you have. We do not charge for the property damage portion of a claim.

Remember that when the insurance company offers you a settlement on a car that is not repairable, that ends their obligation to pay for storage of the wreck. This adds up quickly and makes a long negotiation less and less worthwhile.

Always keep records of repair work, tires and maintenance as this can affect the value of your car.

Buckle up and drive safely.
