Funeral services for Donald Ray Swing, age 69, of Fayetteville, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Jeremy Hudgins and Bro. Billy Langford officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Cemetery. Mr. Swing passed away Monday afternoon at Huntsville Hospital.
Mr. Swing was a native of Petersburg, TN, and was the son of Kathryn and the late Ray Swing. He retired from Bellsouth, was a member of the Kirkland Baptist Church, the Andrew Jackson Masonic Lodge #68, and a Vietnam Veteran.
In addition to his mother, survivors include daughter Jerusha (Kenneth) Counts; son Brad (Emily) Swing both of Fayetteville; grandchildren Whitney Counts of Denver, CO, Blake Swing and Bryleigh Swing both of Fayetteville; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Mr. Swing was preceded in death by his wife Darlene Swing.
Visitation with the family will be 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Higgins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kirkland Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
