FLORENCE – It was a great  Saturday over at Pope’s Tavern in Florence. For the last two hundred years this old place has served as a livery, a hotel, tavern and stagecoach terminal. Since the early 1960’s Pope’s Tavern, ownwe by the City of Florence, has played the rold of historical museum. It provides a connection to the past history of North Alabama.

Every year for nearly three decades, Pope’s Tavern has held Frontier Days, a celebration of the history of florence and lauderdale county. It’s always a lot of fun!

The Quad-Cities Daily was on hand Saturday to record some of the day in our famous EVENT PHOTOS. And we present them here. By the way, Quad-Cities Daily is proud to have given our readers a history book of these little slices of life that we have named “EVENT PHOTOS”. We are pleased to see that so many others are now taking out their cameras and are copying the photographic style that we introduced. Enjoy!
