Freida Fletcher Freida Jean Fletcher, 72, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. The daughter of Fredrick Euwing Deaver and Belva Reed Deaver, she was born December 7, 1950, in Center Point, Alabama. Before she graduated from Hewitt-Trussville High School in Alabama, she began her 25-year career in cosmetology at the age of 16. On November 21, 1987, she married Mark Fletcher; they married in a small chapel in Mountain Broke, Alabama while Mark was attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical School. In 1994, they moved home to Tupelo. She soon began her second career as a Teacher’s Aide at Rankin Elementary. She had a gift for the arts and was best known for her creativity. Freida loved her family fiercely and adored her granddaughters.

Freida is survived by her husband of 35 years, Dr. Mark Fletcher of Tupelo; one daughter, Sara Fletcher Ingle and her husband, Hunter, of Saltillo; two sons, Franklin “Frankie” Benefield, Jr. and Carson Reed Fletcher both of Tupelo; two granddaughters, Kinleigh Sloan Ingle, and Sara Landon Ingle; and two sisters, Debbie Funderbuck of Birmingham, Alabama, and Traci Tolentino and her husband, Winnie, of Tampa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Deaver and Belva Deaver.

Private family services will be held to honor Freida’s life at Pegues Funeral Directors.
