Freeman Smith Profile Photo Freeman Lee Smith, 94, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024, at his residence. Visitation will be from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at Midway Memorial Garden with Clyde Smith officiating.

Born on August 28, 1930, to Elmer and Louella Terry Smith, Freeman was a member of Living Waters Christian Life Center. He enjoyed going on long trips to go sight seeing, playing guitar, gardening, and fellowshipping.

Survivors include his children, Ronald Smith, James Smith, Gary Paul Smith, Timothy Smith, and Anthony (Geraldine) Smith; fourteen grandchildren, Gracie Clayton, Matthew Coker, Kenneth Clayton, Katrina Martinez, Kimberly Gonzales, Katie Rook, Christina Southards, Jerry Smith, Luella Smith, Melissa Smith, Nancy Smith, Anthony Quinn Smith, Justin James, and Eric Smith; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Jewel (Bob) Coggins; one brother, Clyde Smith; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Freeman was preceded in death by his wife, Nelda Miller Smith; sons, Larry Smith, and  Jerry Smith; daughter Pamela Smith James; parents, Elmer and Louella Smith; three brothers, Albert Smith, Matthew Smith, and Roger P. Smith; and three sisters, Christine Reeves, Lorine Treadway, and Marvleen Reeves Tucker.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Clayton, Anthony Quinn Smith, Kaden Clayton, Daniel Gonzalez, Skylar Vanroost, and Nick Pershin.

The family extends special thanks to Julie Stricklin and Hospice of the Valley.
