Joseph Smith, 77 of Sumiton, AL, passed away on Oct. 31, 2024 at his family’s home in Mississippi.
Fredrick was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm. He was member of VFW Post 4850 in Jasper, AL, where he served as Post Commander. Fred was an adventurer at heart. He loved music also and was a bass guitarist.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Smith ; his mother, Helena Garcia and his sister, Patricia.
Survivors include his children, Tony Smith, Linda Hensley and Koda B. Smith; several grandchildren and great grandchildren and his girlfriend of 23 years, Linda Beck; along with many other relatives and friends.
Graveside service and interment will be Saturday Nov. 2, 24 at 11:00 am at New Horizon Memorial Gardens in Dora, AL. Brother Buddy Sparkman will officiate. There is no public visitation. Everyone will meet at the graveside.
