Frederick Hildmon Steele, Jr., 89, of Huntsville passed away Friday. Mr. Steele retired from Army Missile Command. He worked in test area 5 his entire career of 43 years from co-op student to Chief of the test area. He was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church of Huntsville, where he was active in the choir and sang for many weddings. He had a love for motorcycles and was an automobile enthusiast. Mr. Steele was an Auburn graduate like his father and two of his sons.
Survivors include his sons, Ben Steele, Frederick Steele, and James Steele (Stephanie); and grandchildren, Abigail Steele and Susan Steele. He was preceded in death by his wife, Molly Sue Steele, daughter-in-law, Danah Kay Steele, and parents, Frederick and Margaret Robinson Steele.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 21 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Coy Hallmark officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Huntsville.
