Frederick Eugene Glazner – Obituary

Frederick Eugene Glazner, 77, of Huntsville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday. He was born in Gadsden, AL to Willis Eugene Glazner and Gladys Thrasher Glazner.

Fred was known as a kind and generous man. He loved the people around him and he loved his family. His favorite passion was being a licensed HAM radio operator, a passion he developed in college. Fred was a graduate of Gadsden High School in Gadsden, AL, and graduated from the University of Alabama in 1964 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He retired in 2001 from Redstone Arsenal after working over 32 years.

Fred was a member of 12th Street Baptist Church in Gadsden, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Huntsville as well as Mountain View Baptist Church of Huntsville.

Survivors include wife, Genevieve A. Glazner, and daughter, Robyn L. Glazner of New Market.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Monday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home.  The funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon with Pastor Billy Langford officiating.  Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials made to Hospice of North Alabama or Union Grove Baptist Church, New Market, AL would be appreciated.
