Fred Ray Dodd, Jr., 68 of Guntersville, the Sweet Home community, passed away at his residence on Friday March 29, 2024. Fred was born July 8, 1955, in Guntersville the son of Fred Ray Dodd, Sr. and Shirley Nabors Dodd. He was a graduate of Arab High School and attended Wallace State Community College. He was a disabled veteran having served in the US Army. Fred was a caregiver and helped a lot of people over the past many years.
He is survived by his sister: Denise Dodd Jones (Mike); nieces: Mamie, Emma and Anna-Mikel Jones; great nieces: Ellie Hebert and Kennedy Morgan; chosen daughter: Brandy Holt; close friends: Ronnie Thrower and Tommy Burnett; his beloved dog: Astro and a host of cousins, other family and friends.
Funeral Service will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2024, at Gober Funeral Chapel. The burial will follow in Sweet Home Cemetery, Gober Funeral Chapel directing. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Monday at Gober Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers: Keith Edmondson, Ronnie Thrower, Tommy Burnett, Billy Ray White, Spencer Snow and Austin Winston.
