Fred Kimbrough Marmann of Tuscumbia, (73), peacefully passed away on February 24, 2024, surrounded by his family. Fred, fondly known as Freddy to his friends, was a graduate of Deshler High School and the University of North Alabama. He served in the National Guard for six years in 1970. He was an avid golfer who started work in accounting in 1979. He then went on to start his own CPA firm, Marmann and Associates, CPAs, in Sheffield, Alabama. He was an active member of the Quarterback Club and on the first board of Helen Keler Hospital Foundation and served as President of Florence Country Club for many years.
Fred is survived by beloved his wife of 53 years, Terry, and their three children, Charley Marmann (Tina), Kyle Marmann (Elizabeth) and Hart Sherrill (Colten Sherrill), as well as grandchildren, Kayla King, Molly Dickens, Channing Marmann, Curry Marmann, Graham Sherrill and Maxwell Sherrill, and one great-granddaughter, Chandler Dickens. He is also survived by his sister, Rhonda Carter and her husband, Rickey, along with his niece, Neely Boyett, and nephew, Evan Carter, and his two brothers Brian and Ryan Woods. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Hassie Kimbrough and Charles Sr. and Catherine Marmann, and his parents, Charles Jr. and Nell Marmann.
Freddy’s family will host a memorial service on Tuesday, February 27th at 11 a.m. with a visitation starting at 10 a.m. located at Morrison Funeral Home in Tuscumbia, Alabama.
