Franklin Samuel Smothers, age 86 of Jasper, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021 at his residence. Mr. Smothers was born March 15, 1935 to the late Clovis and Ida Lee Smothers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Smothers; two grandsons, Nickolas Hawkins and Brendan Reed; two brothers, Wayne “Red” Smothers and Jerry Smothers; and two sons in-law, Jimmy Reed and George Webb.
He is survived by three daughters, Lisa Reed, Vicki Frederick, and Daphne Webb; a son Tommy Smothers and his wife Janice; a sister, Roisale Early; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 1:00 PM from the graveside in Brasfield Cemetery.
