Franklin “Jab” Delano Buttrum, Sr., 82, of Florence, passed away September 29, 2016 at his residence. He was a member of Master Mason of Florence; Lodge #14 of F & A M of Alabama, and a member of Scottish Rite. Mr. Buttrum served his country as a Sgt. in the United States Marine Corps, and retired from Reynolds Metal Company after 30 years of service and TVA.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 1 – 2 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Henry Melton officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Mr. Buttrum was preceded in death by his son, Franklin “Sonny” Delano Buttrum Jr.; parents, Tom and Mary Buttrum; brothers, Beeley, Thomas and David Buttrum; and a sister, Martha Hunt.
He is survived by his wife, Betty McFall Buttrum of Florence; daughters, Shelia Buttrum Rasch (Paul), Sharon Buttrum Phillips (Doug) all of Florence, and Jong Hee Buttrum Clemente (Nicola) of Aurora, CO; brother, Teddy M. Buttrum of Florence; sister, Lois Buttrum Parks of Burleson, TX; grandchildren, Stacy Bowling (Steve) of Florence, Paula Wilkes (Jason) of Florence, Kristy Seal (Shane) of Cherokee, Stephanie Richardson (Kevin) of Florence, and Jeremy Rasch (Erin) of San Diego, CA; great-grandchildren, Alli and Gaige Bowling, Austin and Coleman Richardson, Kodi, Tanner and Zeke Seal, Claire and Emily Wilkes, and Haley Rasch; and many beloved nephews and nieces.
Active pallbearers will be: Austin and Coleman Richardson, Kodi, Tanner and Zeke Seal, and Gaige Bowling.
Jim Threet, Bill Morrison and George Watson will serve as honorary pallbearers.
