Franklin Druery Heath, Sr. – Obituary

Funeral service for Franklin Druery Heath, Sr., age 82, of Trinity, will be Saturday, March 9, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Benny Sivley officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service. Interment will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Heath, who died Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at Huntsville Hospital, was born November 29, 1936, in Longacre, WV, to Charles Heath and Dora Smith Heath. He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings. Following 30 years of service, he retired from General Motors. Mr. Heath was a member of Decatur Baptist Church, and a U. S. Army veteran who served in Korea.

He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene Fobes Heath of Trinity; one son, Frank Druery Heath, Jr. of Birmingham; two daughters, Sherri Venman (Chuck) of Mentor, OH, and Terri Robbins of Trinity; one sister, Jane Cooper of OH; eight grandchildren, Grace Hossler (James) of OH, Caleb Venman of AZ, Charlotte Venman of OH, Alexis McGinty (Christopher) of Harvest, Samantha Leweke (Grayson) of CA, Susanna Robbins Graham (Thomas) of Harvest, Raven Heath of Birmingham, and Ian Heath of Birmingham; one great-grandson, Fox McGinty of Harvest; one special nephew, Ronald Heath (Alice Fay) of OH; and several nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to the First Priority program at Decatur Baptist Church.
